Matthew and Douglas have worked together for 12 years and created Renovation Insurance Brokers before moving into Renovation Underwriting. Matthew has a law degree, is a chartered insurer and has a post graduate diploma in conservation of the historic environment. Matthew is well placed to advise on the insurance of renovation projects but particularly in the area of listed property.
Matthew has a teenage family, is a keen reader, a dollar art artist and a rather poor but committed guitarist.
Chris has worked with in the renovation sector for nearly a decade. He works out of our London office and specialises in large complex renovation cases including basements, facade retentions, piling and excess layers. Chris is Cert CII and studying for his associateship.
When not working with us Chris is working on his golf game and watching football.
Vikki has worked in the insurance industry since 1995, working in both broking and underwriting. With over 16 years’ experience of specialist renovation products, Vikki brings a real breadth and depth of experience to the team.
Vikki has a young daughter and away from the office she enjoys spending time with her. She is also a big fan of Strictly Come Dancing.
Stuart has been working in the insurance industry for over 25 years both as a broker and underwriter. When he joined Renovation Underwriting in 2018, Stuart brought his experience and knowledge of property insurance and in particular unoccupied property insurance to the team. He is responsible for underwriting and administration of our Unoccupied Property policy, as well as underwriting our Renovation Portfolio product.
Away from the office, Stuart enjoys pretending to be Indiana Jones with his keen interest in archaeology. In the summer months you may also find him sailing his boat on a pond somewhere.
Jason joined Renovation Insurance in 2017 following a career spanning over ten years in construction and legal insurance. A specialist in mid and high net worth projects, Jason takes a particular interest in old castle and mill renovations. He is Cert CII and working towards his associateship.
In his spare time Jason is a football fan, a movie buff, and currently trying his best to learn archery and wing chun.
Cara joined Renovation Insurance in 2021, bringing with her deep knowledge of general insurance principles and practices, having worked in the industry for over 15 years. Gaining experience within underwriting, recoveries, marketing, broker liaison and branch management, Cara found her passion and place in Claims. Her absolute compassion during the claims process is matched by over 12 years of claims management experience, with claims centric roles spanning both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines insurance in South Africa and the UK.
Outside of work, Cara has a great desire to provide the right kind of environment needed by her three sons in order to find their own place in this world. She also harbours a dream to own a small country cottage, surrounded by her other great love – animals.
Katherine joined Renovation Insurance in 2021, bringing with her over 15 years of industry experience of personal lines and high net worth insurance. Having worked as both an underwriter and a broker, she is aware of the service standards demanded of both. Her passion for building close relationships with brokers is complemented with a magpie-like tendency for properties and architecture, particularly Georgian.
In her spare time, Katherine’s interests include DIY, gardening, food and travel, and keeping up with her large, extended family.
Oscar joined Renovation Insurance in 2019 as a Trainee Underwriter. After shadowing our Senior Underwriters for a year, he was promoted to Junior Underwriter.
Once his training is complete, Oscar will primarily deal with smaller and simpler risks, packaged, and direct clients. Having already completed the Foundation Insurance Test (FIT CII), Oscar is now working towards the Cert CII.
Away from work, Oscar is a regular volunteer for a mental health charity, a rough sleeper charity, and a food bank. He enjoys fundraising through sporting challenges and has undertaken five Tough Mudder events, two marathons and is currently training for an ultra-marathon.
Katherine is a Marketing Manager at Keystone Marketing - and the dedicated communications lead for Renovation Underwriting's marketing activity. A graduate and diploma qualified online communications specialist with over 15 years professional marketing and project management experience, Katherine is a focused and experienced marketer. She prides herself on taking a detailed approach to project management, a holistic approach to strategy and a creative approach to campaign development and delivery.
With over 30 years’ experience in the Finance and Accounting sector, Maxine has worked within a wide variety of industries including private medical, vehicle, transport and education. When she joined Renovation Underwriting in 2017, she brought with her experience of corporate treasury and foreign exchange/money market, along with management of multi-currency exposure with inter-company transactions. Maxine is an affiliated member of AAT.
Maxine is an avid reader and enjoys weekends with her family, usually watching rugby, football or tennis.
