Supporting brokers to protect property owners during renovation and contract works projects sits at the heart of Renovation Underwriting’s role in the market.
As part of this ongoing commitment, Renovation Underwriting has made a number of senior role changes across its distribution and underwriting teams, reinforcing both continuity and strategic focus.
James Guthrie has moved into the newly created role of Head of Broker Engagement, following several years building and leading the firm’s Distribution function. With over four decades of experience in the UK general insurance market and a long-standing presence in the high net worth and private client sector, James will continue to help shape how we engage the market, whilst ensuring our proposition continues to respond to broker and client needs.
Wayne Knibbs has been appointed Head of Distribution, taking overall responsibility for the distribution function, with a lead role in strategic planning and business development. Well known across the high net worth insurance community, Wayne’s appointment provides continuity and clarity, building on the strong impact he has already made within the business, while ensuring the distribution function continues to evolve in line with market demand.
Within underwriting, senior underwriter Lynn Toynton has been promoted to Development Underwriter. This newly designed specialist role supports brokers that are part of PlanTrak – RU’s specialist programme that enables brokers to proactively identify renovation risk within their portfolios and arrange appropriate contract works insurance where needed. In her new role, Lynn will combine her technical underwriting expertise with a commercial lens, supporting complex cases, building broker relationships and helping grow sustainable portfolios.
Together, these role changes reflect Renovation Underwriting’s continued investment in an experienced, conscientious team and its belief that organisational design matters in a market where the consequences of getting it wrong can be significant.
