Renovation Underwriting, the MGA that offers specialist renovation capacity and expertise, and part of Geo Underwriting Services, announces the arrival of three new hires to its underwriting team.

Mike Tuck joins as an in-house Structural Engineer and Non-Negligent Liability Underwriter, and Kamran Hussain and Robert Hackett join as Underwriters to bolster Renovation Underwriting’s highly experienced and specialist team.

As the industry leader in contract works insurance, Renovation Underwriting helps brokers fully protect properties undergoing renovations. Its team take the time to assess each risk thoroughly, helping to ensure cover is structured correctly at the outset and reducing the risk of unwelcome surprises at the point of claim.

The appointments support Renovation Underwriting’s ambition to remain the UK’s renovation insurance expert, giving brokers and policyholders confidence that cover is developed carefully, robustly and in the policyholder’s best interests.

Mike’s appointment further strengthens the technical expertise available within the business and reinforces Renovation Underwriting’s position as the only underwriter in its field with an in-house structural engineer. Kamran and Robert bring further specialist knowledge and experience to the wider underwriting team.

Mike joins the business with more than 18 years of experience advising on complex construction, refurbishment, and redevelopment projects across London and the South of England. He combines deep technical engineering expertise with a strong practical understanding of construction.

He is well versed in assessing both permanent and temporary works and has worked on a number of high-profile projects, including the refurbishment of existing and listed buildings, demolition, basement construction, structural alterations and high‑value commercial and residential developments.

Mike will support the underwriting team by reviewing technical documentation and regularly engaging with contractors and design teams providing clear, balanced, and practical technical support for better underwriting decisions and risk management

Kamran is a Cert CII-qualified underwriter with more than 12 years’ experience in high-net-worth home insurance in the private client sector. He is actively working towards his DIP qualification.

He has a particular interest in building works insurance and understands the importance of detailed risk assessment and specialist expertise. Throughout his career he has guided many clients through the insurance process to ensure their investments are protected.

Robert brings eight years’ experience in specialist insurance, including title indemnity and tax insurance, with a focus on helping clients find practical solutions to complex property risks.
