Renovation Underwriting has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading managing general agents (MGAs) for the fourth consecutive year in Insurance Business UK’s Brokers on MGAs report for 2026.

This year, Renovation Underwriting was specifically recognised for its marketing support and geographical reach, alongside recognising its continued presence among the market’s repeat 5-Star winners.

That recognition reflects the importance Renovation Underwriting places on supporting brokers beyond the placement of an individual risk, combining specialist underwriting expertise with tools, guidance and support designed to help brokers identify and manage renovation risks.

In addition, Renovation Underwriting was also named as one of just two All-Star MGAs for 2026.

Recognition driven by broker feedback

The annual Insurance Business UK report is based on feedback from brokers across the country, who are asked to rate their MGA partners across ten areas including: the ability to place niche or emerging risks; compensation, including commissions, bonuses and profit sharing; geographical reach; marketing support; overall responsiveness; pricing; range of products; reputation; technical expertise and product knowledge; and technology and automation.

MGAs achieving an average score of four or more in at least one category receive 5-Star status, while an MGA gaining four or more stars in all 10 criteria led to the highly regarded All Star status.

“Huge thanks go to our brokers for committing the time to the survey and for ranking us so highly across all categories. “Our promise is that we will continue to do all we can to deliver exceptional service and outstanding products, ensuring brokers’ clients are fully protected when undergoing renovations.” Managing Director, Douglas Brown

Putting specialist expertise into practice

For Renovation Underwriting, specialist expertise plays an important role in helping brokers understand complex renovation risks and provide their clients with greater certainty and reassurance.

That means looking beyond the immediate placement of a risk to help brokers understand the detail behind a project, ask the right questions and identify areas where specialist advice or additional protection may be needed.
