London - Renovation Insurance Brokers, today announce details of the forthcoming launch of Renovation Underwriting Limited, an MGA that specialises in the provision of insurance and consultancy services for high value residential and commercial renovation and building projects.
The senior management team, who will be based at the company’s headquarters in St Neot’s Cambridge and their London office, are Douglas Brown, who has over 25 years experience of providing insurance services to this specialist sector along with joint shareholders Nicholas and William Cooper. Nicholas Cooper CBE, was formerly Chairman and owner of Sterling Insurance, which he sold to French insurer Covéa in 2014 and William Cooper is the managing director of London based Stanhope Cooper, a boutique insurance broker.
This senior management team will be supported by an underwriting team based in the company’s offices in Cambridge led by the Head of Underwriting and Compliance, Mathew Dover and includes Chris Harris, Jason Trindade and Will Bennett.
Renovation has already established a track record in providing specialist insurance services to brokers whose private clients, architects and contractors are involved in developing some of the most prestigious and high value developments in the U.K. These currently include the largest single private residential development that is being undertaken in North London and worth an estimated £45 million.

A number of leading insurers including Allianz, QBE, RSA and HSB Engineering are providing capacity for Renovation. The company will typically work with renovation projects where the value of the works ranges from £320k to £50 million and on combined works and structure projects with values of up to £150 million.
The MGA will formally begin trading at the beginning of June 2018.
