James is a broker distribution specialist with over 40 years’ experience of the UK General Insurance market, the last 25 of which have been focused on high net worth and mid-market commercial. James’ career began at Holman’s for Lloyd’s before moving to specialist Lloyd’s Broker Miles Smith and subsequently joining the start-up team at Oak Underwriting before joining Sterling / Covea where he led HNW broker distribution. With over 25 years of experience in the private client marketplace, James is well-known in the HNW broking community.

After 5 years building and leading our Distribution function, James moved into a new role from February 2026, to focus on cultivating and maintaining senior-level relationships with key broker partners across the market, as well as playing a lead role in strategic planning and business development.
